As an extension to the French curriculum, Orchids The International School – Palaguly celebrated the French Independence Day on 14th July 2016. All the students were dressed in blue, white and red- colours of French National Flag.
The day began with students conducting the Morning Prayer assembly in French. Later, many activities were conducted to enjoy the festivities of the day. Grade I and II made Indian and French flag using colour papers to understand the difference in colours and dimensions in both the flags. The importance of history and culture of France was explained to the students of grades III and IV through a very engaging PPT prepared especially for the students. Their session ended with the students thoroughly enjoying a gala of French rhymes and songs. Students of grades V and VI walked the ramp in a ‘Fall’ themed fashion show. The students of grades VII and VIII spoke about French artists, cuisines and education through engaging power point presentations prepared by themselves. The students of grade IX made Eiffel Towers using straws. It was a memorable day as students left school with a little more knowledge, love and respect for France and the French Language.
