Orchids The International School-Masjid Bunder,a renowned school in Marine Lines celebrated ‘Grand Parents Day’ for K2 children in the school premises. It was an opportunity for grandparents to come to school, meet the teachers and also spend qualitative time with their grandchildren. The theme for the event was, ‘Back to School’. The students along with their grandparents went to their respective classrooms. The teachers introduced themselves and involved the grandparents in some fun activities. The teachers handed over slates to the grandparents and they were asked to draw with chalks and in few lines describe what they had drawn. In order to make them feel like students, the grandmothers were given ribbons to tie to their hair and the grandfathers were given handkerchiefs and were requested to pin it to their shirt .A Power Point Presentation about grandparents and how children love them was also shown. A setup of school days in olden times was arranged in the Multi purpose hall. The grandparents then played games and danced to many old songs. The best performer won the first prize.There were two dance performances done by the students, in the honour of the grandparents. The children presented their grandparents with handmade shields on which fingerprinting was done. The last session of the event was the photo booth, where the grandparents happily got their photographs clicked with their grandchildren. Finally, they enjoyed and relished the snacks and drinks. It was an enjoyable event for grandparents, teachers and children.
