Orchids the International School, Thane organized its third Pre-Primary ‘Annual Sports Meet 2016-17’ on Wednesday, 11th January, 2016 with the purpose to instill sportsman spirit among students and to enhance their physical and social skills. The inaugural programme commenced with the school choir singing the school song ‘Proud to be ORCHIDIANS’ invoking vision and mission of the school. Theme for this year’s Pre-Primary Sport Day was ‘Fairy Tales’. Ceremony began with school flag hoisting on beats of school band. Then a beautiful ‘Walk past’ of pre-primary students and teachers depicted their fairy tales themes wherein every section had a different cartoon theme viz. K2-Tom and Jerry, K1-Winnie the Pooh, Nursery-Cinderella and Pre-Nursery-Red Riding hood theme; followed by a torch run for little ones, march past and oath. The ceremony opening was announced by Principal with the release of balloons and ORCHIDS name flying high in the sky.
Teachers encouraged all the participants to exhibit true sportsman spirit during the event. A blend of music, dance, display and fun races was beautifully showcased by the students. Winners were awarded with medals and certificates.
