Students of Grades 5 to 8 of Orchids The International School-Thane, the best school in Thane City were ready for their trip to Panchgani and looked forward to 3 days of excitement, adventure and education beyond the classroom. The students along with 5 teachers, Vice Principal and Principal stayed at Blue Country Resort. The first day they participated in team building games like rifle shooting, archery and net climbing. After dinner, children enjoyed the evening campfire session playing games and participating in activities. The next day, students went hiking to Sydney Point and were amazed by the scenic beauty it offered. They later visited Mapro Jam factory where they saw the chocolate making process. They were also thrilled to see different jellies, jams and crushes and even purchased some. After lunch, students were taken to Vienne Lake where they enjoyed boating. Students were then taken for shopping in Mahabaleshwar where they purchased chikkis, fudges, strawberries, mulberries, gooseberries etc. After dinner, there was enthusiastic participation by children at the DJ party organized as part of their campfire. On the third day, students were taken to Table Land which had many amazing viewing points and which gave a good view of Panchgani Hills. The guide explained that it was the table land that protects Panchgani from strong winds and heavy rainfall, keeping the place suitable for tourists. The guide also explained about Shivalik ranges, famous rivers, forts etc. The students also played tug of war after their cave visit. The next day students left back for Mumbai and they were able to view various scenic spots on their way. The trip helped students to bond with one another and they carried back pleasant memories to cherish.
