Habits are hard to break. That’s why the sooner in life we build good, healthy habits, the easier it is to keep them and stay as healthy as possible. And when good habits are in place, it’s easier to resist bad ones. The foundation of good health habits should be laid early in life.
First aid is the rudimentary help that can be offered to anyone who has met with an accident. Students of the kindergarten and nursery may have only heard about the various components of the first aid box, but do they fully understand their uses? It is essential to train children at an early age about first aid as it increases their awareness and knowledge. This knowledge will definitely prove to be beneficial in future.
And who can explain these good habits and the importance of first aid better than professional personnel?
On the 25th and the 26th of July, Orchids-The International School, Thane organized an interactive session for K1 and Nursery students with the school nurse Parvati Ma’am. She informed the students on the importance of first aid, the common components of the first aid box and the uses of these materials. This was done by presenting an actual first aid box. Children enjoyed the session as they could identify the common medicines shown by her. Later, she explained the importance of good habits. This session ran parallel to the upcoming curriculum, which successfully laid a foundation for these topics.
