Mumbai fire brigade’s headquarters in Byculla had unusual visitors last week: students from the K1 Orchids International, Mumbai. They made the trip in synchronize with their theme for the month community helpers. Students were warmly welcomed by three well uniformed firemen who further explained the functions and the uses of fire engine truck, its Angus ladder, inbuilt fire hose, its siren, hooter and the bell. Their uniforms were dark blue tunic and pants and their waist-belt, black helmet and rubber shoes were fire-proof.
A face mask connected to an oxygen cylinder was shown to the students. The students were also advised to call the help line no. 101 in the case of emergency. After hearing the humble explanations and watching some of the demonstration, the students of K1 heartily thanked the officers for not only their valuable time but also for keeping the society safe.
