The annual sports day of Orchids The International School, Jallahalli, Bengaluru, was held at the H M T ground in a frolicsome atmosphere. The event was marked by a string of spectacular performances presented by the little champs of Grades Nursery – Grade 5, who were brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The grand opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the Honourable chief guest Mr.Elvis. Joseph [founder and director of BSSF], chief guest Mr. Seeresh Reddy, the school officials Dean Mrs. Pushpa Prasad, Principal Mrs. Anuradha Prabhakar, Vice Principal, Co-ordinators, teachers, staff, students and parents.
The walk past by the pre primary children exhibited discipline, hardcore practice of the students, sending message of “Save the Animals”. The teachers chanted few mantras and vandana. Then our Principal declared the sport meet open by releasing the gas balloons with a banner on “Save the Animals” symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the sporting students that were flying high. It was followed by the School anthem. The sports torch was carried by the senior children of pre primary and handed over to the chief guest. Then cheer leader dance was presented by UKG children that kept the spectators spellbound.
Each activity during the event depicted and conveyed a strong message to the people gathered. The march past by the houses that followed exhibited discipline and hardcore practice of the students. The ceremony was auspicated with the recital of a blissful invocation song. The Principal officially declared the sports meet open, and released balloons symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the sporting students that were flying high. The sports torch was carried by the sports secretary and the house captains. The chief guest administered the solemn oath to the house captains and the participants. The school anthem was sung by the choir group of OIS. The Head Boy Mst. Nikhil welcomed the gathering. Then there was the drill display with Hoopla, Ribbons and Dumbells presented by the students that kept the spectators spellbound.
Mr. Elvis Joseph says ‘As responsible athlete’s individuals and citizens, we should be concerned towards positive development of creating a sporting culture. Promotion of sports and a healthy lifestyle which is the need of the hour, and it is by grooming and moulding young minds that this aim can be achieved.’
