All you have to do is take 15 ounces of canned baked beans, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 4 ounces chopped kielbasa sausage links cooked well-drained, and 2 tablespoons of prepared mustard. Mix everything in a baking pan before covering it with aluminum foil and cooking in a preheated 350-degree oven for one hour.

7) Chicken Stir-fry with Rice & Vegetables

This recipe for kids requires a lot of ingredients, but you can put it together really quickly once everything is prepped and ready to go! All you have to do is cook up 1 cup of long grain rice (2 cups if you want leftovers), stir fry 3 cups chopped chicken breasts, two tablespoons vegetable oil, 8 ounces frozen broccoli florets, 4 teaspoons minced garlic, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and salt to taste. Cover the mixture in soy sauce before serving.

8) Spaghetti with Tomatoes & Meatballs

One of the recipes for kids that you can make is spaghetti and meatballs. It’s effortless to make, not expensive at all, and it’s delicious! All you have to do is cook 1/2 pound ground beef, 2 egg yolks, 3 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, 7 ounces bread crumbs (add more if needed) in a pan until browned, before adding 30 ounces canned tomatoes. Let simmer for 20 minutes. Add this mixture to cooked pasta – I usually use penne – with grated cheese.

You can add bacon bits to the recipes if you want to. All you have to do is butter two pieces of bread on each side and toast them in a pan – both sides- until browned. Put a little bit of grated cheese between the slices and cook for another minute or two.

10) Chicken Pot Pie

It’s pretty cheap to make since there aren’t many ingredients, but it will feed four people, so don’t worry about it getting expensive when you add up all the costs. To make it, you have to sauté 1 pound cooked chicken, chopped into cubes, with 1/4 cup minced onion in 3 tablespoons butter. Once that has cooked for a few minutes, you need to add 1 cup of chicken broth and bring it to a boil. Add 3/4 cup frozen peas and carrots (if you can find them). Stir well and then lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add 2 cups cubed peeled potatoes or yams and 1 teaspoon salt; simmer until the potatoes are tender. Finally, stir in 3 tablespoons of flour blended with 2 tablespoons of water to thicken your sauce nicely. Put all this inside a pie crust and place another piece of dough over it (sealed). Bake at 375 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes.
