They started the game. Surprisingly, at the end, the elephant won.

Can you tell why the elephant won?

**Answer : **All the animals are walking. Elephant is the biggest animal among all.
So, elephant took biggest steps while walking and crossed the stone bridge first.

**Answer:**Since the elephant is the biggest among all, the elephant takes the biggest step.

Make a group of 3-4 friends. Find out by drawing lines whose step is the longest.

**Question 6: **Rajat wants to find out the length of a few things using his handspan. These are shown in the picture.

Can he use a handspan to find the length of all these?

**Answer:**No. Since some things are shorter than the Rajatâ€™s handspan, he cannot use his handspan to find the length of those things.

Which things around you are less than your handspan? Name them.

**Answer:**
Observe your surroundings and find out the things which are less than your handspan. Discuss your answer with your friends. Are they getting the same answers?

Some of the things which are less than the handspan are eraser, sharpener, matchbox, coins, chalk, etc.

What would you use to find the length of those things?

**Answer:**
Do it by yourself. Answers may vary. How can you measure those things which are less than your handspan? You can measure those things by your fingers or measuring scale.

**Make a guess**

**Question 9: **See these two coconut trees. If the bigger tree is 6 metres high, about how high is the smaller tree?

**Answer:**Observe the given picture. The smaller tree is almost half of the bigger tree in height.
Therefore, if the bigger tree is 6 metres high, then the smaller tree will be approximately 3 metres high.

3 + 3 = 6
