The author, Pratibha Nath, penned the story, ‘Nina and the Baby Sparrow’. The story begins with everyone in Nina’s house being happy about attending her aunt’s wedding in Delhi. Nina refuses to go to the wedding because she was worried that the baby birds would be hungry if she locked them away in her room. Her mother convinces her to keep her window open, so the papa and mama sparrow could come into and go out of her room as they pleased. This cheers up Nina, and she happily goes to the wedding. She finds the baby sparrow fat and healthy upon her return from the wedding.
