Find the Missing Numbers
Question 11 : Look at the number patterns. Write the missing numbers.

Answer :
a) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is 100 and
numbers are increasing. So, the missing numbers will be 3
300 +100 = 400, 400 +100 = 500, 600 +100 =700
Therefore, the correct answer is:
100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700
b) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is
900 −800 =100 and numbers are decreasing. So, the missing
numbers will be
700 −100 = 600, 600 – 100 = 500, 400 − 100 = 300
Hence, the correct answer is:
c) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is
100−50 = 50 and numbers are increasing. So, the missing numbers
will be
200 + 50 = 250, 250 + 50 = 300, 300 + 50 = 350,
350 + 50 = 400
Hence, the correct answer is:
50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400
d) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is
100 −50 = 50 and numbers are decreasing. So, the missing
numbers will be
200 − 50 = 150, 150 − 50 =100, 100 − 50 = 50
Hence, the correct answer is:
e) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is
35−25 = 10 and numbers are increasing. So, the missing numbers
will be:
25 − 10 = 15, 45 + 10 = 55, 55 + 10 = 65
Hence, the correct answer is:
f) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is
280−260 =20 and numbers are decreasing. So, the missing
numbers will be
240 − 20 =220, 220 − 20 = 200, 200 – 20 =180, 180 – 20 = 160
Hence, correct answer is:
280, 260 ,240 ,220 , 200 , 180, 160
g) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is
150 – 125 = 25 and numbers are increasing. So, the missing

All the King's Horses....
Question 20 : How many horses in all did the king have?

Answer :
The king has total
3 + 3 + 3 + 3 +3 + 3 +3 + 3
= 6 +3 +3 +3 +3 +3 + 3
= 9 +3 +3 +3 +3 + 3
= 12+3 +3 +3 + 3
= 15 +3 +3 + 3
= 18 +3 + 3
= 21 + 3
= 24 horses
So, the king has 24 horses in total.
Question 21 : How many horses are there now?

Answer :
After the visitor left his 4 horses,
There are total
2 + 5 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 5

So, now there are 28 horses in total.
Question 22 : How many horses are left now?
How many of the king's horses were taken away?

Answer :
The visitor took away some of the king’s horses along with his own
horses. Now, there are:
4 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 4 +1 + 4 +1
= 5+ 4 + 1+ 4 +1 + 4 +1
= 9 + 1+ 4 +1 + 4 +1
=10 + 4 +1 + 4 +1
=14 +1 + 4 +1
=15 +4 +1
=19 +1
=20
Therefore, there are 20 horses left in total.

Question 23 : What numbers are we? If you add us both you get 100. The difference between us is also 100.
Answer :
If zero is added with any number then the number remains the same.
Similarly, if zero is subtracted from any number then also the number
remains the same.
So, if the total of two numbers is 100 and the difference is also 100,
then clearly the numbers are 0 and 100.
