Question 11 : Look at the number patterns. Write the missing numbers. a) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is 100 and numbers are increasing. So, the missing numbers will be 3 300 +100 = 400, 400 +100 = 500, 600 +100 =700 Therefore, the correct answer is:
100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700
b) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is 900 −800 =100 and numbers are decreasing. So, the missing numbers will be
700 −100 = 600, 600 – 100 = 500, 400 − 100 = 300 Hence, the correct answer is: c) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is 100−50 = 50 and numbers are increasing. So, the missing numbers will be
200 + 50 = 250, 250 + 50 = 300, 300 + 50 = 350, 350 + 50 = 400
50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400
d) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is 100 −50 = 50 and numbers are decreasing. So, the missing numbers will be
200 − 50 = 150, 150 − 50 =100, 100 − 50 = 50 Hence, the correct answer is: e) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is 35−25 = 10 and numbers are increasing. So, the missing numbers will be:
25 − 10 = 15, 45 + 10 = 55, 55 + 10 = 65 f) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is 280−260 =20 and numbers are decreasing. So, the missing numbers will be
240 − 20 =220, 220 − 20 = 200, 200 – 20 =180, 180 – 20 = 160 Hence, correct answer is:
280, 260 ,240 ,220 , 200 , 180, 160
g) Observe the pattern, the difference between the numbers is 150 – 125 = 25 and numbers are increasing. So, the missing numbers will be
200 + 25 = 225, 250 + 25 = 275, 275 + 25 = 300 Hence, the correct answer is:
125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, 275, 300

74 + 89 = 163
So, she has sold 163 grey sweaters in 2 days.
b) Chanchal sells 38 and 40 red sweaters in 2 days So, total number of red sweaters are (38+40)
38 + 40 = 78
So, she has sold 78 red sweaters.
So, total number of blue sweaters are (66 + 23)
66 + 23 = 89
Chanchal has sold 78 red sweaters and 89 blue sweaters in 2 days. Since 89 > 78, she has sold more blue sweaters than the red ones. c) Chanchal has sold 38 red sweaters and 74 grey sweaters on the 1st day.
38 + 74 = 112
Since 112 < 120, the answer is less than 120 .
d) Chanchal sold 40 red sweaters, 23 blue sweaters and 89 grey sweaters on the 2nd day. 40 + 23 + 89=152 Since 152> 140, the answer is more than 140 .

All the King's Horses....

Question 20 : How many horses in all did the king have? Answer : The king has total
3 + 3 + 3 + 3 +3 + 3 +3 + 3
= 6 +3 +3 +3 +3 +3 + 3
= 9 +3 +3 +3 +3 + 3
= 12+3 +3 +3 + 3
= 15 +3 +3 + 3
= 18 +3 + 3
= 21 + 3
= 24 horses
So, the king has 24 horses in total.

Question 21 : How many horses are there now? Answer : After the visitor left his 4 horses, There are total
2 + 5 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 5

= 9 + 1+ 4 +1 + 4 +1
=10 + 4 +1 + 4 +1
=14 +1 + 4 +1
=15 +4 +1
=19 +1
=20
Therefore, there are 20 horses left in total. Initially the king had 24 horses in total and now he is left with 20 horses.
