What is the Shape of the Sun?

The sun is round in shape. It is called a star in the centre of the solar system. The sun is not a solid mass. It comprises layers primarily made up of hydrogen and helium, with smaller quantities of heavier elements such as oxygen, carbon, neon, and iron.
The sun's radius is about 695,000 kilometres, which is 109 times the earth's radius. The current distance of the sun from the earth is 148.4 million kilometres. According to NASA, the sun's age is almost 4.5 billion years.
