Admission Inquiry 2022-23
A Journey To A Better Future Begins With Us
School is like a second home to children and that is why we make sure their health prospers. In a survey conducted by us, we found shocking results as 60 to 70% of the kids were overweight and 2 out of 10 students were underweight.
A number of symptoms of health issues go unnoticed, especially in the case of a child. These health and nutrition issues are no longer limited to adults but have grown to be a huge concern for children as well. These health problems if ignored, start triggering psychological and social problems, which immensely affect a child’s performance at school.
We have constituted our very own Health and Nutrition Program, which is dedicated to addressing these issues with a stronger strategy and is backed by strong analysis and assessments.
We begin by tracking the health of a child through food diaries. In every school, we have measures for stamina, strength, body mass index, heart rate, skin color monitoring for anemia etc.
A series of assessments named ABCD assessments are performed in the following order:
The Alpha Fitness Assessments include Cardiorespiratory Fitness & Musculoskeletal Fitness analysis of a child, to form an initial record of their body.
Cardiorespiratory Fitness – looks after the smooth functioning of the heart and the lungs. Through various exercises like jumping jacks, our purpose is to measure each child’s breathing capacity.
Musculoskeletal Fitness – accounts for muscle fitness which includes muscle strength, muscle endurance, and muscle power. Through exercises to measure handgrip strength, we aim to measure and keep a check on their upper body isometric strength.
The Biochemical Assessments monitor the Body Mass Index of each child individually which helps in getting an estimate of their body’s strengths and weaknesses.
BMI – Body Mass Index allows us to keep an account of the student’s body size, to determine whether a child is underweight or overweight as per age bar and take precautions accordingly. Higher BMI is associated with higher risks of cardiovascular diseases.
Waist circumference – There needs to be a balance of fat in the body. The purpose of this is to estimate central body fat of the students. Higher waist circumference is a risk factor for lifestyle-related and cardiovascular diseases.
Skinfold Assessments – The purpose of this assessment is to measure subcutaneous fat and estimate percentage body fat. Higher adiposity is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases.
Clinical Assessments are about a student’s heart rate and skin color index, which allows us to move a step forward in their health analysis. Through these assessments, we have advanced our research skills to come up with more accurate solutions to the problem.
Heart Rate – This assessment helps us monitor whether the health schedules and exercises are benefitting and not harming the child. The heart rate of a student allows us to keep a check on the smooth functioning of their heart and balance of the body.
Skin Color Monitoring – This helps us to indicate the presence or absence of anemia. An anemic child misses out on the energy and zeal of enthusiasm we feel while playing a sport. It is crucial to analyze it early in the stage to take appropriate precautions or else to develop a habit that can easily be adapted right now for a lifetime of relaxation.
Dietary Assessments consist of analyzing their eating behaviors. We also maintain and keep a timely check on their food diary. These assessments help us stay in continuous touch with the health of a child, with timely follow-ups, ensuring constant health safety.
Eating Behaviour Assessment – Eating disorders are already prevalent in the modern world. Eating Behavior Assessments helps us keep a regular check on the well-being of our students.
ABC Assessments – An overall analysis of the ABC assessments takes place here, which accounts for our final assessment result and its solution.
Food Diary – Every ORCHIDIAN is allotted their very own Food Diary in order to maintain a regular check and record of their health. The food diary includes timely measurements of stamina, strength, body mass index, heart rate, skin color monitoring etc. This food diary is a record of the child’s health graph which allows us to closely examine the changes and improvements.
The health and nutrition program also consists of:
We also advise an equal involvement of the parents in making their child’s life healthier since they are the first idols of a child. This program ensures a child’s well-being, thereby assuring the making of our future global leaders.
