III. Antonyms and Synonyms

Synonyms -  A word that means similar or the same as another word.

Antonyms -  A word that means the opposite of another word.

1) How to Use Synonyms to Describe a Trip to the Village?

    Instead of using the same words again and again, you can use their synonyms.

    Example : 

    It was a beautiful sight. The elders were chatting among themselves. Rohan and I were playing video games. Sometimes mom would interrupt to show the lovely view on the two sides of the road.

    In the above example, the words beautiful and sight have been used once. Their synonyms lovely and view have been used in the next sentence.

2) How to Use Antonyms to Describe a Trip to the Village?

    You can use antonyms to show two different kinds of emotions during a trip. Usually, when a trip starts, everyone is happy. At the same time, when the trip ends, we feel sad. The words happy and sad are          antonyms.

    Example: 

    I was happy as there were a lot of places to play and roam around.

    Tuesday morning, we left for the city. I was sad.
