IV. Pronouns

1) How to Use Pronouns to Describe My School?

Pronouns refer to a noun that has been mentioned, or that does not need to be specifically named. In the essay to describe my school, you need not repeat the word ‘school’ again. You can use pronouns like ‘It’. Similarly, you can also use other pronouns like ‘we’, ‘our’, him, etc., to denote the person you are referring to.

Example:

I love my school. I study at Vidya Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jamshedpur. It is a co-education school. It is a very old school, roughly more than 50 years. It is located at Kailash Nagar, Golmuri, Jamshedpur.

2) How to Use Personal Pronouns in the Essay Topic of My School?

We use personal pronouns instead of noun phrases to refer back to people and things that have already been mentioned before.

Example:

We have one month of summer and winter vacations each.
Our final exams are held in March.
