Make two groups in the class. Debate the topic— ‘We should have uniforms in school.’
I support the topic “We should have uniforms in school”. I think a uniform is convenient for school as one does not have to buy too many clothes. A school uniform brings unity among the student. Nobody will have a chance to tease others about their clothes. So, I think school uniform is necessary for each student.

Yes, I have a friend Sheela who wanted to study but could not. Her mother is a housemaid, and her father died last year in a road accident. Every child has a right to free education upto Class VIII. Do you think that all children are able to study up to Class VIII? Discuss.
Although every child has the right to free education up to Class VIII, I do not think all of them can study up to Class VIII. In our country, the government provides all kinds of facilities to promote free education but many parents do not realize the importance of education. Many girls drop out of school in Class VI and Class VII because their parents think they do not need to be independent. They prepare their daughters for marriage, teach them how to do household tasks. In the case of boys, too, they drop out of school and start earning to support their family.
Draw and colour their pictures in the notebook.

The litchi trees come to flower in February. I put all my four boxes near the litchi orchards. I got 12 kilograms of honey from each box. I sold this honey in the market. This was my first earning from my bees. Now I have 20 boxes.
As mentioned later in the text, Anita and other people in her village get Rs. 35 for one kilogram of honey. So, if we calculate the total cost of Anita’s 20 boxes will be— 1 kg honey = Rs. 35
So, 12 kg of honey = 35 12 = Rs. 420
As she will earn 420 rupees from one box,
For 20 boxes she will earn = 420 × 20 = Rs. 8400
So, the total cost of Anita’s 20 boxes will be Rs. 8400.
