An English folksong and singing game called "Ring a Ring a Roses”—more popularly known as "Ring Around the Rosie" in the United States—was originally released in 1881. There was a German singing game and nursery rhyme published in the eighteenth century that was quite similar.
Ring-a-ring o' roses,
A pocket full of posies,
A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
We all fall down
Fishes in the water,
Fishes in the sea,
We all jump up,
with a 1, 2, 3!
