English 

The CBSE class 1 English focuses on developing foundational skills such as reading, writing and comprehension. The syllabus consists of alphabets, basic vocabulary, simple sentences and grammar concepts. Thus, allowing them to build phonetic skills, learn simple words and sentences, and enhance their listening and speaking skills. 

Maths

CBSE Class 1 English Syllabus Breakdown:

Mridang is the English textbook that has been recommended by CBSE for Class 1 English. The book is specially designed to impart 

to small children the concept of the language. There are not more than 10 comprehensive units and poems. The inclusion of these poems strike a balance between studies and play. The number of worksheets in the workbook is at par with the number of concepts taught in the textbook.

The syllabus focuses on the core English communication skills of reading, picture comprehension, writing, dictation, grammar, vocabulary, and textual comprehension. All these constituents or sub-skills are very vital in the integration of linguistic skills in children. Practical writing will include new sentences, letter and paragraph writing, picture comprehension, and report writing.
