# All About space and Direction

## All About Space and Directions for Class 2 Science

The positions of the Pole Star, sun, and moon in the sky were used to check the direction in the early days. The development of the compass then led to changes in the method of knowing directions.
There are four primary cardinal directions—North, South, East, and West. The following concept will introduce the learners to these directions.

After going through the concept, they will be able to:

• Name the cardinal directions.
• State the location of the objects with respect to other things
• Mention the directions for sunrise and sunset.
• Identify the directions using the compass.

Each concept is explained to class 2 students using descriptions, illustrations, and concept maps. After you go through a concept, assess your learning by solving the two printable worksheets given at the end of the page.
