Language is indeed a living, breathing, evolving system; & despite not being the same for everyone, it continually expands to push boundaries and open doors to new ideas, technologies, & cultural influences. One of the primary ways that language expands is through word formation—the process of forming new words from existing words.

Vocabulary and Communication skills are enriched with word formation. Word formation practice enhances learners' abilities to understand new vocabulary & utilize it in word formation exercise.

These methods are derivation, compounding, conversion, clipping, blending, acronyms, & borrowing. They all serve a purpose in the English language.

What we have done is fill in the blanks because no matter how confusing reading is, it is easier to understand if we know how words are formed.
