Reading Time

1) Look at the Below Flowchart. The Flowchart Is About the Routine Sonali has After Returning From School. Draw the Hands on the Clock from the Flowchart in the Given Picture. Also, Find the Time Gap Between Her Activities.

First, we need to discuss the flowchart. From the flowchart, it is clear that

(i) Sonali comes back from school at 4: 30 PM.

(ii) Sonali is playing at 5: 00 PM.

(iii) Sonali is studying after 5: 00 PM.

Let us assume that Sonali studies around 6: 45 PM.
Sonali comes back from school at 4: 30 PM, plays around
5: 00 pm and studies around 6: 45 pm. In the below picture, it is shown.

The time gap between her activities is
5: 00 – 4: 30 = 30 minutes
6: 45 − 4: 30 = 2 hours and 15 minutes.

2) Here Is a Flowchart of a Machine to Say ‘Good Morning’.
Flowchart to Say Good Morning:

Now Look at the Given Below Times Carefully and Answer if the
Machine Will Say Good Morning or Not at Those Times.
(i) 10 AM (iii) 8 PM
(ii) 5 PM (iv) 6 AM

First, we must decide when the machine will say ‘Good morning.
Steps to make a flowchart:

  1. We know that one should wish good morning always before noon. Noon is considered after 12 PM. (Process)
  2. If the time is after noon, one should not wish good morning. (Decision)
  3. If the time is before noon, one should wish good morning.
  4. If yes, the machine will print good morning. If not, then the device will end the process. (Output)

(i) 10 am comes before noon. So, according to the flowchart, the machine will print good morning at 10 am.

(ii) 8 pm comes after noon. So, according to the flowchart, the machine will not print good morning at 8 pm.

(iii) 5 pm comes afternoon. So, according to the flowchart, the machine will not print good morning at 5 pm.

(iv) 6 am comes before noon. So, according to the flowchart, the machine will print good morning at 6 am.
