1.What Is the Difference Between Zoo and the National Park?

The differences between a zoo and a national park are given below:

National Parks Zoo
1. In National Parks, all plants and animals stay in their natural habitats. 1. In Zoos, animals are kept inside cages which is not their natural habitat.
2. National Parks are used to protect the ecosystem of a particular place. 2. Zoos are used to protect a few animals for amusement and recreational purposes.
3. The animals in National Parks hunt for their food. 3. The animals in Zoo are provided with food and water by their caretakers.

2.Why Do National Parks Have Salt Pits?

  • Some National Parks have salt pits where salt is kept for the hoofed animals.
  • Salt is an important component in a wild animal’s diet.
  • Mostly plant eaters come to the pits to eat salt, which gives better sightings of wild animals to tourists.

3.What Is a Green Corridor?

  • A green corridor is also known as a wildlife corridor that connects wild animals separated due to human activities like logging, roads etc.
  • Corridors help animals to migrate from one habitat to another habitat.
  • We have many elephant corridors in India.
