Table of 5

The Table of 5 is one of the simplest multiplication tables, and it is extremely simple to follow – you can clearly see a pattern – it ends in either 0 or 5. As a result, it is easy to commit the table to memory, and it can be a lot of fun to practice.

Many things we do in our everyday lives rely on the 5 times table. For example, we count money with 5-rupee coins, keep track of the time in 5 minute intervals, and we can count all of our fingers by fives! By learning the Five Times Table, we can complete all of these tasks in a quicker time!

Knowing the Table of 5 provides a basis which allows us to perform bigger maths questions. It aids in our learning of the other tables and makes our mental maths more fluid.

For example, if I say 5 x 2, this represents 2 lots of 5, which is 10. With enough practice you won't even have to count, you will just remember the answer immediately.
