Measurement Formulas

Measurement forms the nucleus part of science and engineering, and even in our day-to-day life. The quantification of physical properties depends on the measurement formulas; hence, knowledge of these formulas is essential for everyone in every other field.

In effect, measurement formulas are mathematical statements that connect physical quantities to each other so that the unknown values can be determined in terms of known measurements. There are such varied applications as geometry, physics, and chemistry in using formulas to measure properties such as length, area, volume, mass, and density.

Formula

Measurement Formulas are used to measure the distance, area, surface area, volume, circumference, etc. It also has some conversion formulas like conversion of an inch to feet, meter to miles, etc.

Some of the Measurement Formulas are given below:

Measurement Problems

Some solved examples based on measurements are as follows:

Problem 1: Find the area of a triangle with base 3 units and height 8 units?

Solution:

Base = 3 units

Height = 8 units

                                     = 12 sq.unit

Problem 2: Find the distance between two points (2, 3) and (7, 5)?

Solution:

(x1, y1) = (2, 3)

(x2, y2) = (7, 5)
