Definition :

• A sentence is a collection of words which has meaning.
• A sentence is created by using correct grammar.

Examples:

After learning about parts of the sentence and how to identify the missing parts of a sentence in sentence sense I & II, it is necessary to write not only sentences but also exclamatory sentences and questions.

Let’s take a look at different types of sentences.

Types of Sentences

There are four different types of Sentences. They are declarative, exclamatory, imperative, and interrogatory.

Today, we will discuss declarative sentences.

Declarative Sentence

A declarative sentence is a sentence that forms a statement. Whenever a sentence gives any kind of information, it is a declarative sentence. Declarative sentences are one of the most used sentences in the English language.

The structure of a declarative sentence can be stated as follows:

1. Usually, the subject, which can be a noun or pronoun, is followed by the verb followed by the object. Follow this sentence format to write sentences in the declarative form.

2. Sometimes, sentences don’t have objects, so in such cases there is only the subject and the predicate

Common Mistakes:

Always remember that there is a full stop at the end of a declarative sentence. Don’t add an exclamation mark or a question mark at the end of the sentence.
