Sonipat, December 4, 2025: Orchids The International School, one of India’s leading K12 school chains, is set to host the zonal round of Mekathlon Championship 2.0, on December 6, 2025, at Orchids The International School, Sonipat (Bahalgarh) campus. Recognised as one of the most dynamic K-12 robotics competition in the country, Mekathlon aims to ignite curiosity, deepen STEM learning and encourage students to explore technology through hands-on innovation. To make STEM more practical, engaging and meaningful, Mekathlon 2.0 brings together young developers and innovators to design, build and program solutions that mirror real-world challenges.
This year’s edition will feature an exciting lineup of robotics, coding and engineering challenges across categories. Students will compete in the Fastest Line Follower, Robo Soccer, Sumo bot (manual and autonomous), Racer Robo and the Robotics Innovation, where participants will work on building prototypes around themes such as smart healthcare, sustainable agriculture and smart cities. Adding to the excitement, Thrill Hub zone will offer high-energy, skill-based games - including Balloon Blaster, Snap Shot, Kung Fu Catcher, SkyRush and a motion-controlled Flappy Bird experience - making the event an engaging blend of learning, competition and fun.
Speaking about the competition, Jimmy Ahuja - Head of STEM, K12 Techno Services- said, “Mekathlon is more than a competition. It’s a platform for young innovators to turn ideas into actionable solutions. Through these robotic competitions, students learn to think critically, collaborate effectively and approach technology with creativity and confidence - core skills for the future of work. As they design, build and test their creations, they begin to see themselves not just as learners but as problem-solvers and innovators. That mindset is exactly what Mekathlon aims to nurture.”
Romita Sharma - Principal of Orchids The International School, Sonipat campus - said, “At Orchids, we believe in learning by doing. Mekathlon allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings, fostering leadership, collaboration and innovative thinking. Hosting the Sonipat round gives our students a chance to showcase their talent and compete with peers from across the region, building a strong foundation for their future in science and technology.”
The Sonipat round follows the successful zonal rounds in Pune (November 22) and Mumbai (November 29). Upcoming rounds will be held in Hyderabad (December 13), Chennai (January 10) and Bengaluru (January 17). Top-performing teams from all zones will advance to the grand finale in Bengaluru on January 31 and February 1, 2026, competing for national recognition and opportunities to collaborate on impactful projects.
